Conflicts in 'The Messenger'
One of the conflicts in 'The Messenger' is Forest killing people. Forest gives the people that dare enter it warnings. Matty is the only person to not get warnings from Forest, and the only one to know all the paths in Forest. People are dying, Forest is thickening, and Matt must get Kira in time before Village closes off from Forest. People are changing in Village. They aren't acting the way they used to where they respected everyone and their flaws. Everyone was kind and nice to each other, then Mentor makes a trade. The characteristics that make people themselves are vanishing. For example, Mentor's birthmark is disappearing and he is becoming greedy and rude. During the trade, he pushed people out of the way and insisted on going first before everyone else.
