Important Event #2
Another one of the most important events in chapter 7 in 'The Messenger' is when Matty goes to the Trade Mart. He feels like something isn't quite right. When Matty meets up with Mentor at Trade Mart and the trading begins, Mentor changes. He yells to go first and pushes his way through the crowd. A woman goes off crying...why? Something is changing. People are becoming selfish and are trading things away. Even Leader can sense that people in Village are changing, and it is not a good change either. This event is important because it is showing that things aren't how they used to be in Village. Mentor is an example of this. He is trading away something...his birthmark isn't nearly as visible as it was, and his personality is different now. This event really stood out to me in the story and seemed quite odd.
