Ramon
Ramon is one of Matty's best friends in Village. He would go fishing with Matty often and they would discuss life in Village. Ramon's parents made an unknown trade for a Gaming Machine, a game that spits out candy when you pull the lever. All of the sudden, Ramon becomes ill. After Leader tells Matty to use his powers sparingly, Matty goes to Ramon's house and thinks about healing him, but remembers what Leader had said. Ramon's appearance is not described, except being about Matty's age, and he is one of the protagonists and a static character. Ramon is usually nice and friendly towards others, and doesn't know about Matty's gift to heal. I have a feeling that Ramon's parents may have traded Ramon's health for the Gaming Machine. It seems strange how he would fall ill all of the sudden, but it may just be a coincidence. Ramon is not one of the main characters, mostly set aside in the story, a part of the background. He stays in Village while Matty goes to get Kira, and is healed at the very end of the story from Matty's sacrifice to heal Forest and Village.
